One of our most famous puppies resides in the nearby area of Lake in the Hills as a member of the Compassionate Dental Care team. Mya the Dental Dog a red cockapoo, works as a service dog for Dr. Tim, but also has a side hustle as a dental therapy dog. She is there to help ease the minds of the patients. In this role she was trained for months with the Happy Doodle Farm team. Much of her training was very rigorous and involved copious amounts of loving and hugging. When Dr. Tim first reached out to us about a dog he basically said that he would defer to us with the expertise. He gave us a list of must-haves that he was looking for in his practice. He wanted a small dog that would be able to sit on laps, provide love and affection for everyone who visits his office and loves puppies. He also had some specific individual tasks that he needed to have fulfilled so that she could work as his personal service dog. We love the idea of being able to use these dogs in dual roles because it keeps them well-trained and socialized. The best trained dogs are the ones that have their training implemented daily. You can put a puppy through thousands of dollars worth of puppy school, but if you never have her use the skills she has been taught she will lose them or fall into her own rules that suit her best. Part of our training process is that our puppies are raised with us as family, but then at 8 weeks they move into the next phase of life. Where they are taught more about human rules. Over the course of training any dog that goes through our program will work under multiple trainers. This allows them to get used to taking commands and guidance from a variety of different people.
